KCEA AWARDS

2006

·       Outstanding Organization: Local, State, or National Level

Presented to an organization, agency, institution, or individual that exemplifies support and service for community education.  The nomination maybe for on-going support or for a one-time innovative program or project.  Persons or organizations of diverse ethnic and/or cultural backgrounds will also be considered under this title.

Minimum – 1 year of demonstrated/documented involvement in community education.


·       KCEA Leadership Award: Local or State Level

Presented to an individual who has made a significant impact with their support & service of community education through the development, design, implementation, maintenance of program activities.

Minimum – 1 year of dedicated service to community education in Kentucky.


·       KCEA Youth Service Award: Local Level

Presented to an individual(school youth/college undergraduate), Service Learning Youth Council, or school related organization who has provided outstanding service and leadership in the local community through service and service learning activities. This will be open to all levels: Elementary, Middle & High School.

Minimum Requirement: A sustained commitment of at least 100 documented hours per year.


·       KCEA Meritorious Service Award: Local or State Level

Presented to an individual(adult), Government Employee for the Commonwealth of Kentucky, Outstanding Legislator, School Administrator (Supt., Principal, Asst.), Classroom Instructor (Elem., Middle & High), Classified Staff Assistant (Elem., Middle, High), for demonstrating a commitment to promoting, developing & nurturing leadership opportunities in community education/service learning for ALL Kentucky.

Minimum – 1 year of dedicated service to community education/service learning in Kentucky.


·       STAR Awards: Local Level ( One given per region)
   10 Awards Total:

Presented to a Community Education Program for a project developed and implemented from the What Works segment of the Community Education Grant that is turned in to the Kentucky Department of Education.  One winner from each region will be chosen for association recognition.


RULES FOR THE 2006

KCEA AWARDS

1.    ALL nomination forms and support materials must be postmarked no later than September 15, 2006.

2.    ALL nominations must be made by a current member of KCEA in good standing.

3.    Nominees need not be KCEA members.

4.    Only nominees who have not received in the past five years the award for which they are being nominated will be considered.

5.    Final decisions will be made by the Awards Committee.

6.    Winners will be honored at the annual KCEA Fall Conference. 

Failure to follow these rules will adversely affect the consideration of the nomination.

The following nominating materials must be submitted:

·       Awards Nomination Form, filled out in its entirety;

·       Support Materials – not to exceed 5 pages, excluding the Awards Nomination Form, but including: a narrative with data included of the person/agency/organization;

·       Three (3) complete sets of ALL nomination materials listed above must be submitted;

·       All nominees will be acknowledged.
